Beginner 1 classes are for those new to yoga, for those who want a gentle class regardless of experience, or for those who have physical restrictions. Each class will begin with gentle warm-ups followed by postures (asanas) and each class will end with a period of relaxation. Modifications and props will be used when needed. No prior experience is necessary.

Beginner 2 classes are for those who want to move to the next level of yoga but are not ready for the power and vigorous classes. We will use Sun Salutations and link postures together and will increase the difficulty of certain postures. Some yoga experience is helpful , but not necessary.

Intermediate classes are for those who are ready for the next step after beginner yoga. We will increase the difficulty of the asanas and hold the postures for a longer period of time. Vinyasas will also be introduced.

Beginner Forrest Yoga provides postures that are designed by Anna Forrest to: strengthen core muscles, strengthen support muscles, sharpen your intuition, promote the release of your Healing Power, create new openings in the body and awaken your dead zones.

Hard Core Yoga provides postures that are designed by Anna Forrest to: strengthen core muscles, sharpen your intuition, promote the release of your Healing Power and created to complement & support your Astanga Pactice.

Dynamic Flow classes are for those who have some knowledge of yoga and who want a more vigorous practice. Postures are led as opposed to taught, so a certain level of experience is necessary. Having attended a prior class is helpful but not necessary. Learn a variety of breathing techniques, chakra opening, meditation, more advanced postures, inverted postures, and meditation in motion.

Jump Start Yoga Start your day with yoga. This class if for all levels and focuses on starting the day. Some sun salutations will be done as well as basic asanas (postures) for energizing your body.

Power Yoga 1 is athletic yoga for those who want to enhance their current exercise program or begin a new one. It is based on the Astanga style. No previous experience is necessary. A great way to gain strength, flexibility and stamina. Movement, Sun Salutations and breath are key components.

Power Yoga 1 & 2 classes are for those familiar with the Power Yoga 1 Primary series. We will begin the Secondary series. All those who have taken Power Yoga at The Spirit of Yoga or elsewhere are encouraged to try this powerful and rewarding class

Meditation Yoga emphasizes meditation. We will also include basic yoga postures, breathing techniques, and a variety of meditation techniques.

Mommy & Me Yoga welcomes all new moms and their babies up to one year old. This class is designed to enhance your bodies natural healing process, and establish a means in which you and your baby deepen your non-verbal communication. Proceeding only with the approval of your Doctor, come and explore a powerful session that will challenge and heal the body as it regains it’s original muscle tone, open the mind through tools of discipline to decrease stress, and increase awareness, and ultimately continue the privileged connection with creation as you as had the opportunity to do in pregnancy.

Tai Chi classes Longevity and rejuvenation are the primary goals of Tai Chi, a system of slow, gentle, non-strenuous movements ideal for persons of any age who want to stay flexible, increase energy and reduce stress. Tai Chi promotes health, balance, coordination and tranquility and leads to more graceful, effortless movement in everyday life. Try out this wonderful, low stress form of exercise.
