Pam Walsh

Pam Walsh, 500 hour E.R.Y.T, owner and operator of "The Spirit of Yoga", has a BS and MS equivalency in Health and Physical Education.  Her love for yoga and teaching led her to open The Spirit of Yoga in West Chester in March of 1999 and The Spirit of Yoga Wellness Center in Downingtown in November 2003.  She took her first yoga class in 1973 and has been practicing yoga ever since.  Pam's dedication to lifelong study and practice has led her to many yoga instructors including Richard Freeman, Beryl Bender Birch, Rodney Yee, Erich Schiffman, David Swenson, and many others.  Pam recently completed her third module of training with Tias Little.  She enjoys teaching yoga and sharing her experiences with students at West Chester & Immaculata Universities, several local corporations, and both Spirit studios.  She developed the 200 & 500 hour yoga teacher training program and loves introducing her students to the joys of teaching yoga.

Isabelle Allgood-Neal

Isabelle Allgood-Neal, RYT, has a Masters Degree in Environmental Science as well as a background in aerobics and modern dance.  She trained at the Spirit of Yoga for her 200 hour RYT which she received in January 2009.  Isabelle continues to train in the various yogic traditions, and holds her Pilates Mat Certification Level 1 - 3.  She has a passion for the beauty, art and science of yoga and especially loves the healing and meditative aspects.  Isabelle enjoys teaching to all generations and loves to help students to create their own mind/body/spirit connection through yoga and meditation.

Danielle Anastasi

Danielle Anastasi started practicing yoga in 1999 at the Spirit of Yoga.  It was then that she discovered a passion for the practice.  She completed the teacher training program with Pam Walsh, where she studied a variety of yoga including Kripalu, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow and Iyengar.  Danielle has been teaching yoga classes since 2005 and enjoys sharing her love of yoga with others.

Susan Banks

Susan Banks, 500 Hour E.R.Y.T.,   Susan has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 1992. She initially took up yoga to compliment her Aerobic teaching, but finds she teaches more yoga classes than fitness these days. She has studied various styles with numerous teachers over the years which she thinks shows in her eclectic practice. Known for her more vigorous practices in which she correlates body awareness with anatomy and cuing. Although Susan teaches Kundalini and Power Yoga, she still manages to teach beginner yoga that allows students to stretch their potential.

Bonnie Barrett

Bonnie Barrett has been practicing as a registered nurse for 20 years.  She received her BSN at the West Chester University in 1991.  Over the years, she has explored, studied and utilized various complementary therapies. Bonnie is a Certified Hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest, largest and most respected accrediting organization in the world. She has recieved additional training and certification from Michael R. "Ron" Eslinger, RN, CRNA, MA, APN, BCH, CI Captain, USN Retired of Healthy Visions Hypnosis for Pain Management with hypnosis. In addition, she has received training for and is certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming from Dr. William Horton of the National Federation of Neuro Linguistic Programing. Bonnie has also attended the Holistic Stress Management Certification workshop with Dr. Brian Luke Seaward of Inspiration Unlimited and The Paramount Wellness Center. Sarah Beck

Sarah Beck, 500 Hour E.R.Y.T., R.P.Y.T., M.F.P., discovered her love of yoga while attending classes at The Spirit of Yoga in 2000. She has studied a variety of yoga styles since 2000, which she blends into her classes.  She is certified in Vinyasa Flow Yoga and has attended many yoga related workshops & lectures.  Sarah specializes in prenatal yoga and wellness and is certified by Motherwell as a Maternity Fitness Professional and Prenatal Yoga Instructor.  She is a Childbirth International Certified Birth Doula, is working to complete her Childbirth Educator Certification and is a featured practitioner at Mindful Mamas.  In 2007, she studied Thai Yoga Bodywork with Michael Buck.  Sarah is a Reiki Master, completed her studies with the School of Shamanic Methods and does a variety of energy work.

Nancy Gentle Boudrie

Nancy Gentle Boudrie is committed to teaching individuals to become masters of their own mind. Maggie Christy

Maggie Christy received her training in massage therapy with Telema Hess, founder of Omega Healing Arts School, and Omega Bodworks+ located in Chestnut Hill, PA. Maggie offers an intriguing blend of therapies to address your personal needs, integrating many modalities and engaging the five senses in her bodywork sessions. Her massage covers the spectrum from therapeutic and sports applications to healing energy work and deep relaxation. She is also trained in Lypossage.  She has great respect for our innate ability to heal our own bodies through the use of guided breath, emotional release, healing touch, and conscious relaxation techniques, and believes that we experience health and wellbeing through balancing the needs of our mind, body and spirit.  Maggie brings an experiential background in meditation, breathwork, visualization, Chi Kung and personal growth. Bhakti (Judy Curiel)

Bhakti Judy Curiel, Ph.D., 200 Hour ERYT, began a daily yoga practice in 2004 and completed the Fall 2007 Teacher Training at The Spirit of Yoga.  Her passion is making yoga available to people in any physical condition, of all ages and of all body types. She loves to share many modifications and adaptations in her classes. She has studied Restorative Yoga with Dr. Judith Lasater, the foremost authority on Restorative Yoga, and earned the titles of a Relax and Renew Trainer® and an Advanced Relax and Renew Trainer®.  Judy also traveled to Mexico and Costa Rica to learn from her mentor, the very gifted Restorative Instructor, Jane Fryer.  She is a certified ChildLight Instructor™ and a certified Let Your Yoga Dance® for Special Populations Instructor.  Presently, she is enrolled in the 500 hour yoga teacher training at Kripalu. Off the mat, she has been an educator for over thirty years and has taught students of all ages from Kindergarten to College but there is a special place in her heart for teenagers.

Mitch Goldfarb

Along with music, T’ai Chi has been one of Mitch’s great passions in life. It’s Taoist philosophy and background has help to focus his creativity both in and out of the studio.  Mitch is currently a Professor at West Chester University in the Kinesiology Department.  His teaching background includes over three decades of experience instructing at various Philadelphia area colleges and universities. In addition to T’ai Chi, Mitch is certified as a Reiki Master and Instructor.  Mitch's studies of T’ai Chi and Push Hands include work with Andrew Heckert (Germantown T’ai Chi Academy), Grand Master William C. C. Chen, Grand Master Ben Lo and Grand Master Dr. Tao Ping-Sang. Wendy Keslick

Jeff Leoni

Jeffery is a Master Practitioner of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki, and a practitioner of reflexology, shiatsu/acupressure, Integrated Energy Therapy, and Buddhist/mindfulness meditation.  He is also a member of International Association of Reiki Professionals, a member of Philadelphia Community Wellness practitioner group, and a Reiki volunteer in training at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.  He practices in Downingtown, Reading and at South Philadelphia Community Acupuncture in Center City Philadelphia.  Jeffery is also a clinical psychologist, who utilizes meditation/energy work as a part of psychological treatment.  He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Okinawan karate and is trained in QiGong, Tai Chi, and meditation. His main goals as a Reiki practitioner are to promote maximum health/wellness in all people and to help my clients attain the benefits of a balanced and enlightened life.


M.E. Lynott, M.Ed.

M.E. Megan Lynott, O.D.

Dr. Megan Lynott is an eye doctor, who encourages her patients to quit smoking, start exercising, stop bad habits and form new healthy ones. Stephanie Phillips Markstein

Stephanie Phillips Markstein, 500 RYT, has been teaching yoga since 2005.  She received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification through The Spirit of Yoga in the fall of 2004.  Just this past December, she completed her 500 hour RYT certification, again at the Spirit of Yoga.  Stephanie has also studied with Beryl Bender Birch, Edward Clark, and Simon Park.  Her passion is Ashtanga yoga, but she enjoys practicing and teaching many other styles.  Stephanie is also a singer-songwriter-guitarist and local political activist.

Sarah Moran Martin

Sarah Moran Martin, R.Y.T., first practiced yoga at Duke University and returned to it in her 40s when knee injuries forced her to eschew tennis, running and snow skiing. She resumed practicing again at The Spirit of Yoga in 1999 and took her 200-hour teacher training there in 2009.  She is particularly interested in how pranayama supports and sustains yoga asanas, and how staying with the breath brings serenity to her life -- and can do so for her students. Often, Sarah's classes incorporate bolsters, straps and other props to deepen and enhance postures. A journalist, writer and editor for more than 40 years, she enjoys taking workshops and classes whenever she can.

Disha Mattive

Disha Mattive, R.Y.T.,ChildLight Certified, YogaWorks Postnatal Certification, was first introduced to yoga when she was seven, and began taking her practice more seriously 15 years ago while living and working in New York City. She quickly discovered yoga to be a great way to maintain health, harmony and direction in her busy life. Today, she enjoys sharing her love of yoga with people of all ages and walks of life, and she especially enjoys teaching children. In addition to her extensive teaching credentials, Disha also holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Delaware, is CPR certified for both adults and children, and has all necessary background clearances to work with your child.


Cathy Mink

Cathy Mink, RYT, received her training at The Spirit of Yoga.  She is also certified as a Yoga for the Special Child Instructor.  As a Pennsylvania Elementary and Secondary certified school counselor, she has worked with students of ages 5 to 21 for over twenty five years.  She taught as an adjunct instructor in the Counselor Education Department at West Chester University for 10 years.  She recently received her certification as an autism specialist.

Jaki Reynolds

_Jaki Reynolds 'found' yoga in 2006 although she swears yoga chased her for a few years before that!! She completed her teacher training here at the Spirit of Yoga in January 2009 and hasn't looked back. She loves to share the joy she feels when practicing yoga, with her students. Watching someone achieve something they thought beyond them, seeing them progress through their practice, fills her with as much excitement and happiness as it does them.She has a fun, upbeat style, which although is accessible to all, can still be challenging to the student with more experience. Jaki likes to adjust students throughout her class and feels that alignment is the basis for all poses.In 2010 Jaki also completed her teacher training for Yoga Nidra and loves the contrast between the two styles of yoga, one being an active practice, the other so relaxing.

Sarah Rogers

Sarah Rogers, R.Y.T., first learned about yoga from her mom and began practicing formally in 1999. She received her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Certification from The Spirit of Yoga in January 2007 where she learned about various styles including Forrest, Astanga, Kripalu, Baptiste, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Prenatal yoga. Sarah brings a calm, soothing presence to her yoga and meditation classes. She is interested in teaching her students to cultivate not only improved physical health but also an inner stillness and a tranquil spirit through their yoga practice both on and off the mat.


Kristin J. Roosevelt

Kristin J. Roosevelt, R.Y.T, completed her certification at the Spirit of Yoga during the 2004-2005 Teacher Training Program.  She has been practicing yoga since 1998 and has attended Beryl Bender Birch Ashtanga workshops and a retreat at Pura Vida in Costa Rica.  She has practiced various styles of Yoga including Ashtanga, Baptiste, Forrest Yoga, and Tri-Yoga.  Her foundation is in Ashtanga Yoga, but she does enjoy teaching various styles of Yoga including flow classes.  Kristin has been an athlete playing lacrosse and running cross-county and marathons.  Her love and practice of yoga has transformed her life physically, mentally, and spiritually and she hopes to share these experiences with her students.

Sherry Rubin

_Sherry Rubin, LCSW, RYT, has been practicing and studying both psychotherapy and yoga for over thirty years.  She became a Certified Yoga Instructor in 1999 after her studies at the Yoga Lifestyle Center. She has received additional training in Mindfulness Yoga with Frank Jude Boccio, and Life Force Yoga® to Manage Moods with Amy Weintraub, for whom Sherry has been a teaching assistant for the past five years.  She has also completed 85 hours of study with Richard Miller in iRest® Yoga Nidra and has been certified by Jennifer Reis in Deep Sleep Yoga Nidra. Shiva Das

_ Shiva Das (Jim McCabe) is the Managing Partner of Yoga On Main, which he has run since 2000. He has studied Yoga since 1987 and has been teaching since since 1995. His influences include the Integral Yoga Tradition of Swami Satchidananda, the Vinyi Yoga Tradition of Sri T. Krisnamacharya and his son T.K.V. Desikachar as well as work of David Frawley and Eric Shiffman. His primary teacher and Guru is the Great India Saint, Mata Amritanadamayi Devi, "Amma". Her primary direct is "LOVE and SERVE".

Shiva Das is co-creator of "Inner Fire Yoga" along with his business partner and Founder of Yoga On Main, David Newman. Shiva Das in collaboration with David and Senior Teacher, Ed Zadlo has developed Yoga On Main's highly recognized "Inner Fire Yoga Teacher Certification Programs". He has authored several Teacher Training Manuals, and is recognized as one of Philadelphia's premiere Yoga Instructors. He teaches regular weekly classes throughout the Philadelphia area as we as leads workshops and retreats throughout the world.
