The History Of India and The History Of Yoga
“India is one of the oldest, greatest and most profound of all civilizations. Its contributions to human knowledge and culture are enormous and many sided, extending to all aspects of the material, intellectual and spiritual realms. India provides a wealth of wisdom, inspiration and insight that remain relevant today to all the people of the world. Yet its history is seldom studied in depth, even by Indians, and many misconceptions still exist that often prevent even a dedicated student from understanding it properly.” This quote comes from the book “Hidden Horizons Unearthing 10,000 Years of Indian Culture,” which is the basis of this thumbnail sketch of the historical background of the culture from which the ancient sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda emerged.
