	The Spirit of Yoga Teacher Training is for anyone who would like to become a certified yoga teacher or to deepen their yoga practice. The course will integrate a variety of yoga traditions including Astanga, Kripalu, Vinyasa Flow, Forrest, and Iyengar, and will cover the basic yoga asanas found in classical Hatha Yoga classes. The student will be introduced to asana practices from the yoga traditions mentioned above and will be taught how to effectively teach yoga to students of all levels. Breathing, meditation, anatomy, physiology, charkas, ethics, assisting, correcting, philosophy, yoga sutras, teaching styles and qualities of a good teacher will be taught. This course will integrate many styles of yoga to develop a well rounded yoga teacher and/or yoga student. After completing the required 200 hour program a certification from The Spirit of Yoga will be given and the student may also register with Yoga Alliance to become a Registered Yoga Teacher – 200 hour level. This course has been designed to meet the renewed guidelines set by Yoga Alliance. Pam Walsh, RYT, owner of The Spirit of Yoga will lead the certification program. Experienced practitioners will present classes in their areas of expertise. The program can be customized to fit your schedule, with the opportunity to take up to a year to complete the program. Classes may be made up during our fall 2010 program. The training will be held at our Downingtown studio. The 200 hour teacher training will begin in February. It will include the following: Ten weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 11:15 AM – 6:15 PM (140 contact hours) 10 practices at The Spirit of Yoga and private sessions with director (12.5 hours) Assisting, Observing, or Participating in a variety of classes at various locations taught by Pam (27.5 hours) 20 hours will include independent reading and writing assignments, journals, student teaching, and written final exam. Topics included in the training include: Living life as a yogi Chakras Basic Anatomy Healing through Yoga How to Prevent Injury Yoga Stutras Yamas & Niyamas Yoga Nidra & Restorative Yoga Techniques and asana practice Tentative Schedule (Subject to Change) Weekend classes Saturday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM & Sunday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM February 13 & 14, 20 & 21, and 27 & 28, March 20 & 21 and 27 & 28, April 10 & 11, 17 & 18, and 24 & 25, and May 1 & 2 and 15 & 16 View a Sample Schedule from the Fall Semester The Spirit of Yoga Teacher Certification Fees: $2100, if paid in full by January 31, 2010 $2200, if paid after 1/31 or in installments - Five payments of $440 may be made on January 15, February 15, March 15, April 15, and May 15. Late fees will be applied for late payments. Refunds for cancellations are available up to two weeks prior to date of teacher training minus $25 processing fee. Once the student begins the training, there will be no refunds issued. If the Spirit of Yoga cancels the teacher training, a full credit or refund will be given.
